The PO liquid is produced in the pilot plant of Fortum Oil and Gas
(presently Neste Oil, Technology Centre of the Porvoo Refinery). The
plant includes patented multi-inlet cyclones for effective reduction
of solids content in the product liquid and is an integrated process
which includes biomass reception, size reduction crusher, flue gas
drum dryer, pyrolysis reactor, vapour recovery units, aerosol removal
units and mixing tanks. The heat produced by combusting the car and
non-condensable gas by-products of the process is used for feedstock
drying. The plant is fully automated and includes all modern safety
features.
